TAB Studio Miniature Painting

Tracy Brady’s Artwork

Aftermath…

Posted by TAB Studio on February 22, 2009

Should I  mention the recovery period for my divorce is going well, OK, very smoothly.
I have had inquiries as to how the family is doing and it made me think to post and reply how lucky I am and that
abandonment of my quote “loving” husband was one of the best things that could happen for the three
of us left behind.

When the ex husband, Todd Hersey, aka the ‘DMofDoom’, who lived in his 34 year old’s  fantasy world or, copious time sleeping in the bed
working his bi-polar moods decided fly away after a day of  (lol) deep contemplation in order to be with his mom in Ohio.

Well, the three of us initially thought the outcome would be vastly different then what in reality it has become. We now after time and
counseling realize that Todd ’s planned departure started long before we were aware and, we feel nothing would have changed
the course of his mental illness and his choices. This is just my opinion of what happened in the matter nothing more or less but,

Without Todd sucking joy and money out of my business and life. Supporting his bad teeth, child support, addictive habits,
huge medical insurance, Dr’s visits and prescription costs all with his grand 30 hour work week ( seems to be all the time he could muster up).
I can now afford to get out and enjoy places  I have wanted to get to for ages  (Utah we are headed your way).

I have more money, fun, peace of mind, friends, companionship and freethinking than I ever thought possible.

I rekindled my love for outdoors and thanks to the kids Christmas gifts and I started saltwater fishing again.
We have met some great people n the process and to his credit Stefen has learned to throw a cast net in turn garnering a
endless supply of bait and pride. Becca has donned a sexy pair of hip waders to explore the intertidal zones of our lovely warm coast.
Soon we all hope to be feasting on delicious Florida fish. We will be soon acquiring a boat for our adventures right now with the
economy the price is right! Then we can island hop and get to the big fish,

I enjoy my work again as a gardener. I am no longer dealing with the downer of a husband who really did not want to be there and could
not secure a job elsewhere. I hired  Jim, a man that is happy to work in the “field”, so in turn we are more productive have fun and happy clients.
Becca (my daughter) is working part time in between school and with her help the business is rebuilding and recovering from
it’s angry often unhappy Todd partnership ruination.

It has been great for my family to get out and realize the world is not full of  manic depressives and there are kind people
out there that enjoy going places and doing fun things.  So beyond the health issues that haunt my daughter and I  life is good, we are good.

Our heartfelt thanks that all those that have contacted us with notes, sent kick butt gifts and gave us their time and encouragement.
It helped carry us through the anger and resentment we had encountered in adjusting.

We painted

Posted by TAB Studio on December 29, 2008

Wow finally!
Becca and I sat down and started a couple pf Reaper minis! I am working on a Hill giant model and she is painting a tiny little fairy. We started at opposite ends of the spectrum but we started and it is a blast.
Finally got the time to dust everything off and figure out how to set it up with the new table. I will try to get progress pictured tonight unless the minis really suck :D

Cheers
Tracy

Back to my own life and, returning to paint and play again

Posted by TAB Studio on October 5, 2008

I am updating and going to try to continue that from now on. I miss many of the things I was up to and am returning toward the hobby as able. I appreciate all the comments and email quests for more video and will try to dust off and continue the series but feel to buff up a bit may be in order. I have a updated camera and stand so quality should be better next show. That is always a plus but again I will need to slap some paint just to brush up.

My health is straightened out thanks to pharmaceuticals and my daughters is being addressed as well (we have both now been diagnosed with RA) I have learned that it effects many things in life. I am single now and have been organizing my life to deal with the changes, I refused to stop school…. my lawyerbuddy made me promise not to so I am still in the digital media program and I love it. I lost a large amount of weight and have began to live happily again, traveling and enjoying time as I can grab it. Business is growing steadily and I am thankful for that. For those that do not know I am a gardener by day lots of sunshine and good views of the Gulf of Mexico and Florida inter-coastal waterway for job sites.

We play Magic the Gathering on a regular basis with the gang, gosh I love that game! We have all steered away from role-playing because it reminds us too much of the past but we will again play Warmachine. I love not only the minis but also the game strategy. With one-young-son homeschooling, daughter taking environmental science and, myself working and schooling/head of house, time is a factor for any good games. But darn it next Saturday will be one and it will probably last till dawn as par normal.

So I bid ado but will return soon with further random post of wips till I get back up to snuff for the videos.

Cheers and thanks for the cool emails…
Tracy

Took a break from the Faust and relaxed with my Avatar Of Menoth

Posted by TAB Studio on October 3, 2007

I like painting warjacks just for my play time… it is very relaxing and I need that this week, my health is annoying me so I took a break to paint for just me last night. I feel kinda guilty but here he is…Avatar Of Menoth Legging
The Avatar is the big bad a@@ of my army. I balance him with the all too pretty Harbinger of Menoth painting her will be my reward or bribe shall we say I have had the model since she first came out She is really why I choose Menoth , well and Stefen My son had already dibbed the Cryx fraction, my first love.
I will paint the Harbinger soon I hope… but only after I finish the 800 or so point of minis I have to complete. I am also looking forward to the Daughters of the Flame as far as painting goes they are little hots that remind me of the minis from GW … Sevina and Soria Inquisitor models, my daughter took a fancy to those models and pointed them out. I like a lot of the inquisitor models also.
My husband Todd was my hero as he pinned and glued the daughters together last night while I painted… I love that time we share together, it is one of my favorite past times we do besides beating each other down playing Magic the Gathering ( a trading Card game ) it is really fun when the whole family is able but with all of us in school that is rare right now.

My art class homework is a bit overwhelming and consuming a lot of time I have been able to do something …away. I have three paintings due by next Tuesday, 8 X 10 acrylic and all the same picture painted with different color values ( warm Cold and my choice) if I were not so anal it would not be too bad but I bite off too big of projects and need to keep it simple this time . I have the next video due out this Sunday, need to be efficient…
Well I better get something done while I can.

A big Thank you Craig and Liz for adopting my Warmachine Renegade, It is fun knowing he will go to a good home, I got the mini I needed from privateer press with the money it helped very much!
Cheers,
Tracy

Episode 3 – Pinning

Posted by TAB Studio on September 12, 2007

 AOL VIEWERS See Here !

Welcome !

Here is the third episode of our instructional videos. This one is narrated by Todd from BrushOrDie.com. The video is about pinning two parts of a pewter miniature together as both Todd and Tracy will show you. We are still working on the 35mm pewter gaming miniature from Anima Tactics named Faust Orbatos and will be until he is entirely painted.

I am not able to present the Metallics video today because of a medical condition that leaves me randomly unable to function. This last week was one of those random times.
Thank you to Todd  for the assistance with your sultry voice. Poor guy spent hours narrating this clip.  It helped keep the show on time, not let viewers down, eased my stress and gives you all a break from my voice to boot. I love you Todd!

Thank you my dear Becca for the cutest announcement ever of the winner for the Biggest Mistake Contest.
Yes, winning info is at the very end of the video again the suspense is killing us, go see! :D

Until the next Episode on  September 23 rd… happy painting and a big thanks to you all for your time, comments and support!

Cheers,

Tracy

A Good Friend and, Privateer Press – No Quarter Magazine Picture.

Posted by TAB Studio on September 9, 2007

First the good friend is Liz that I meant from the forums of CoolMiniOrNot. We chatted and schemed in or spare time and I am so thankful for her approaching me that I could not detail here. She is a jewel in crown of kindness. It is for her that my family was able to enjoy Sea World in style and I can not thank her enough.

I also received a package from Liz and was very thrilled.  When I opened it I find that she has given me her miniature from the contest she did so very well in I think it is even her first contest she has entered in as well.
I could not believe my eyes. I will soon will photo and show you her incredible work.
She needs work with the photo end more than any assistance in the painting, that is for sure. Yet I always enjoy hearing her schemes and plans, she is the best fun outside my family for me right now.

Liz, I want you to know how very much I cherish this diorama and always will.

The other cheery news this week is that Privateer Press – No Quarter Magazine Picture is out and the family hit the local game store to buy a copy. Weeeee laaa !

No Quarter Brass Balls Issue # 14

Marijn Congratulations on the win well deserved! Watch you back though I am getting ready for the next one already!
I am going to auction this Renegade on eBay so I can afford the next miniature I have plans for, let you know when it goes up for sale case you are interested. I need to get at least $50.00 for it, so here is to hoping I do.
